Netflix, Youtube, traffic light and stop sign detection, smart summon, new games and more coming in Tesla V10

In a series of twitter posts, Elon Musk dropped some interesting info about the upcoming Tesla V10 software updates. “Ability to stream YouTube & Netflix when car is stopped coming to your Tesla soon! Has an amazingly immersive, cinematic feel due to the comfy seats & surround sound audio.” Someone else noted that Musk had previously stated that these features were promised as part of the Version 10 software update.

Must also confirmed that the V10 update will contain new games among other things: ” Yes, V10 will include several games & infotainment features, improved highway Autopilot, better traffic light & stop sign recognition & Smart Summon”

When asked “Will it also include a Text message phone feature? Really important safety feature! Read message through speakers. Allow quick response.” Musk simply responded with “Yes”

We also heard something new about a “Joe Mode”: “Elon can we get the auto lane correction feature without sound? Young kids in car, want to keep feature on but not wake them up” – “Hoping to get “Joe Mode” into V10. The default, of course, is normal volume, but selecting “Joe Mode” would lower the volume of strident beeps & chimes by half.”

As far as timing is concerned, Musk had this to say: “Depends on how release to owners with early access goes, but hopefully wide release by end of August”

Still no word on Spotify support for those of us here in the States. Fingers crossed!
